Why do we still love what’s bad for us? (my confession)

So, Mother Nature has “trapped” me in the house for the last few days and I started going through some products that should have been tossed ages ago! I have to admit that until recent, I was only checking my products to make sure they were void of petrolatum, mineral oil, sodium laureth sulfate and sodium lauryl sulfate. There are so many other ingredients that are toxic that I didn’t pay much attention to. You can reference this post for info on various resources that educate consumers.

Anyway, I threw away a popular brand Lock & Twist Gel which contains parabens, DMDM Hydantion and propylene glycol. I also pitched alcohol filled hair sprays & an “old school” hair grease containing petrolatum and mineral oil. But tell me why it is still so hard for me to toss my Let’s Jam! I’m sure you all remember that stuff. My container is still 2/3 full and it is difficult for me to part with it. I haven’t used this stuff in a long time but memories of good times keep me holding on – how ridiculous! :-)

So ladies, is breaking up really hard to do? Be honest, do any of you have this same problem with a product or products? I can’t be the only one!

Thanks for reading. Be blessed!

it's tough to break bad habits, but I think it's mostly about finding what works. if the product isn't making any noticeable damage to your hair or skin, most often folks tend to keep what works, it's sometimes hard to find a staple product. But I hear you though...health above ALL else is most important, and knowledge is key. Hopefully that can be the bigger determining factor when choosing a product;-)

I had my last relaxer in August 2007. In early November 2007 I packed up all non natural products and distributed them to my family and friends and never looked back.

Let's Jam was one of my faves and I remember giving away two jars. I know one was brand new and the other was over half full. :-(
